Description:
This page
contains Global Unique Names (GUNames). With time the page will be
transformed in a ‘real’ database format, and each guname will gets its own
page (see example)
and URL. But the GUName database is already up (but working on faltfile)!
With creating your guname, you get your unique ‘tag’ on the internet…
Google
for example on the following keys (four
examples, guname in green):

by Google, due to many instances of ‘Jan’ at the internet, use unique
internet name keyword ‘guname’ when searching]

already indexed by Google]
The result
will lead straight to this name base, from which you can link to other
relevant information on you such as the social network tool such as Linkedin
or Plaxo in which you store your specific information, cv, links to other
people, etc. In that way:

You only have tot subscribe to one social network tool (we got sick
of invitations of various social network tools, we now only send a reply:
“Sorry, I’m only registered in tool X, search on my guname to find me on
the internet...”)
·
People can still easily find you at the internet and
get to know in which social networking tool your information can be found.
In addition
you can ‘tag’ things you do, post, etc. with your GUName on the internet.
Take Tamara Janssen, she has chosen ‘Tamarajanssen’ as GUName. When she posts
a comment somehwere on the internet, and somebody googles on ‘Tamarajanssen’,
that person will see Tamara’s posting...
You can list your GUName here as well. It is and will remain free.
When you
are a good person (and live according the GoodPrinciples)
you are given a free guname. Send an email to myname@guname.org, with in
the subject your requested guname, and in the body the text (html preferable)
which should be posted in de GUName base. Within some days it will be listed
at this side, and a few days later your guname on the internet will work.
Easy. In addition you can send:

A picture you would like to add
(your face or so)
·
A picture which should be used as
background
A quite
normal guname is <first name> <family name> written as one word,
see table for examples. Off course creating a unique own name is better, or
you can use a pretty unique nickname. We create an alias ‘gu_’<your first
name by default for you.
You can
check the internet before sending your proposed guname on its existence...
(use any search engine)
